Hello Festive Friends,

Can you believe it? There are only 10 weeks until December 25th! Before running out to shop, stop! Take the time to plan how you are going to pay for everything the season has to offer.

How much are you planning to spend this holiday season?

Attached is a Holiday Spending Plan and Holiday Expenses List. When you think about your holiday expenses, you might think only of your gift list, but that is only one of the many things we spend money on during the holidays. When you look at the full list of holiday-related expenses you can begin to see why we overspend.

Budget Tips:

  • Be honest about what you spend money on during the season.
  • Make a budget. Create some wiggle room- cut your budget by 30% and stick to the adjusted budget.
  • You will start the new year off in a better financial situation if you do not use credit. If that is not possible, plan how much will be put on credit and how long it will take you to pay it off.

Helpful Apps:

  • Black Friday 2022 app and BlackFriday.com will let you review the Black Friday ads before they come out in the paper.
  • The Krazy Coupon Lady app will alert you to sales and provides a lot of tips for saving money.
  • The Santa’s Bag app can help you keep track of your budget and gift list.
