Youth that plan to exhibit beef, dairy, sheep, swine, meat goats, dairy goats, poultry, and/or rabbits at the Montgomery County 4-H Fair and/or Indiana State Fair must complete the YQCA certification training! Youth must be complete in this training by Friday, July 16th at the time of check-in. Failure to complete will result in an ineligibility to show. YQCA completion is required for all 4-H exhibitors at the 2021 Montgomery County 4-H Fair & Indiana State Fair.

This is an annual program that can be completed via online modules or in-person trainings. The following dates below are in-person trainings that are being offered for youth at the Montgomery County 4-H Fairgrounds:

  • Monday, April 12 from 6:00-7:00 pm @ 4-H Building

  • Tuesday, May 25 from 6:00-7:00 pm @ 4-H Building

  • Wednesday, June 2 from 12:00-1:00 pm @ 4-H Building

  • Monday, June 28 from 6:00-7:00 pm @ 4-H Building

  • Wednesday, July 7 from 6:00-7:00 pm @ Exhibit Hall

  • Monday, July 12 from 12:00-1:00 pm @ 4-H Building

You must be pre-registered to participate in the class. Pre-registration ensures that you have successfully attended the class. If none of these dates work for your schedule, you may complete the online modules OR attend an in-person training in another county. If interested in learning date options for in-person trainings in other counties, please contact Abby at the Extension office at (765)364-6363 or asweet@purdue.edu. As stated previously, youth will be required to be certified in YQCA before they can exhibit at the fair.

At the bottom of the page under the "Related Files" section, you will find a “step-by-step” guide on how to register for an in-person training. Visit yqca.learngrow.io to get registered today! In-person trainings cost $3.00 and must be paid online. For in-person trainings, you must select the $3.00 option and pay via coupon code or credit card. The only way to pay for this training is by credit card online.  If you e-mail Abby Morgan at asweet@purdue.edu, she can give you a coupon code so that it is FREE for you, thanks to a generous sponsorship by Tipmont REMC! This coupon is just for the in-person trainings. If you are interested in doing an online training, those cost $12.00.

YQCA does offer an online ONLY test-out option. For more information and to see if you are eligible for the test-out option, please click the "YQCA Online Test-Out Guide" under the Related Files section at the bottom of the page. There is also a "Frequently Asked YQCA Questions" document that may help clarify any questions you may have.
