HATCH is a non-profit dedicated to collaboratively bringing farm fresh eggs to those who may not otherwise have access to this healthy food. Eggs, a tiny home for the mega health benefits, high quality protein and nutrients, are one of the most versatile foods and can be used in so many ways. From farms to pantries, organizations like Fayette County Food Council are helping to bring these eggs to communities in need.
Becky Marvel, Community Wellness Coordinator and head of the FC Food Council, has worked hard to bring over 13,000 dozen eggs and counting into Fayette and Union County since December of 2019! This amazing program was in the works prior to the Coronavirus Pandemic, however it came at just the right time! Distributing eggs to 7 pantries and meal programs in Fayette County, since then it has expanded into Union County and has more than doubled in size in an effort to reach more people in need of this service.
