Nourish Series - Session 2

Nourish Your Brain - Have you ever gone into a room and forgotten what you went to retrieve? Don’t worry. That happens to most people at least sometimes. Have you fueled your brain lately? Just like your car, your brain needs fuel to operate effectively. Consuming a well-balanced diet that includes foods rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids can be beneficial for the brain and the rest of your body.

Nourish Your Heart - On average, your heart beats about 100,000 times per day, pumping nutrients and oxygen throughout the body. Taking this hard-working group of muscles for granted can be easy. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.

As we age, we may not be as active as we used to be. Maybe we have put on a few extra pounds, or we’ve developed health issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes.

The Nourish program provides adults with information and strategies about nutrition. You will learn how to eat more nutritiously and be more physically active to promote health and well-being.
