Allen County Master Gardener Training

We're excited to announce that Allen County is hosting an Extension Master Gardener training this fall! This training course covers various horticultural topics including ornamental plants, growing fruits and vegetables, soil health, invasive species, plant pests, and much more. The program aims to train volunteers to spread horticultural knowledge throughout the community. Classes take place in-person with sessions led by multiple experts and professionals. Upon completing the course, there will be a written exam to become a master gardener intern. Interns can then volunteer in the community to become master gardeners.

The cost is $195.00, which covers the entire class and a printed manual. Sessions will take place on Mondays from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Allen County Extension Office at 4001 Crescent Ave Fort Wayne, IN 46815 on the following dates:

September 23
September 30
October 7
October 14
October 21
October 28
November 4
November 11
November 18
November 25
December 2
December 9
December 16

 

To participate in the training, you must first complete the attached application below and turn it in at the Allen County Extension Office during business hours from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. When you turn in an application, we will verify and make a copy of your photo ID then send you the link to register and pay for the course.

The first 30 people to register and pay for the course will secure spots in the training. 

If you are interested in participating in the training course but cost is a barrier, we are pleased to announce that we have one scholarship opportunity available that will cover the entire cost of the class!
