2024 Fort Wayne Farm Show
The Fort Wayne Farm Show is set for January 16-18, 2024 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The Farm Show will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM on January 16, 9 AM to 8 PM on January 17, and 9 AM to 4 PM on January 18.
Besides looking at new equipment and other displays, Purdue Extension and Northeast Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts have organized a great lineup of speakers for this year’s Farm Show! All the educational sessions will take place in the Appleseed Room A, right off the main exhibit floor. A lunch, sponsored by the Indiana Farm Bureau, will be available on Wednesday, in Appleseed Room B.
On Tuesday at 10:00 AM, David Kohli and John Cavanaugh will deliver their Grain Market Outlook for 2022 with Ryan Martin adding the weather outlook and Rob Winters providing input.
At 11:30 AM, Carrie Vollmer-Sanders from U.S. Farmers & Ranchers in Action will speak on how farmers can take advantage of global climate action.
At 2:00 PM, a two-hour Private Applicator Recertification Program with PARP and CCH credits will be available if you attend the entire two-hour program. Speakers include James Wolff, Extension Educator, Christian Krupke, Purdue Extension Field Crops Entomologist, and Ann Kline, Extension Educator.
Wednesday morning starts at 9:00 AM with coffee, breakfast, and a presentation on regenerative agriculture by Noah Radde, Grain Origination Specialist with ADM.
Farm Bureau’s luncheon will begin at 11:30, with Brianna Schroeder of Janzen Schroeder Ag Law speaking on hot topics in land use. Only 150 meals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
At 2:00 PM, Rhiannon Lake with Allen County SWCD and Adam Shanks with Purdue Extension will present new technology in conservation.
On Wednesday at 5:30 PM, Dan Gordon, Attorney and Founder of Gordon & Associates P.C., will speak on five ways to lose the family farm.
On Thursday at 10:00 AM, breakfast items will be available along with a presentation on cultivating resiliency: financial incentives for environmental stewardship with the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund®. The presentation is sponsored by Soil and Water Outcomes Fund®, Indiana Soybean Alliance, and Indiana Corn Marketing Council.
At 11:00 AM, Mike Lampton with Indiana Farm Bureau will speak on insurance and agri-tourism.
At 12:30 PM, a session entitled, “Office Hours: Meet Your Agency Staff” will be available, which will include representatives from the Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative, Farm Service Agency, Indiana State Department of Agriculture, Soil & Water Conservation Districts, Local Watershed Organizations, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs, and Purdue Extension.
