Forestry Field Day

The Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is co-hosting a forestry field day with USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Purdue Extension, Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), Clean Water Indiana (CWI) and the Twin Creek-Lick Branch Watershed Project on Saturday, March 23rd near Vallonia, IN. The event will focus on several topics useful to both woodland owners and the general public. Topics include wildlife enhancements, forest stand improvement, brush management and utilizing forestry conservation programs. 

Registration will begin at 8:30 AM at the property of WMD LLC with light refreshments provided.  Navigate to Pollock Cemetery, Campbellsburg, IN. You will use Ratts Rd to access the property.  Signage will be posted leading to the event location.  The event will begin at 9:00 AM.  Attendees will travel to the field for a tour shortly thereafter (weather permitting). In the event of inclement weather/saturated soil conditions, all activities will be held indoors. After the event, lunch will be available at approximately 12:30 PM.

RSVPs are required by Wednesday, March 20th to the Washington County SWCD at 812-883-3006 ext. 3. A minimum of 15 pre-registrations are required to host this field day.  If the event is cancelled, an announcement will be made by March 21st.

Please contact the Washington County SWCD if you need any special accommodations at least 10 days prior to the event.  Please dress according to the weather.  Sturdy shoes are recommended for the portion of the field day that covers moderate terrain. Contact the SWCD office with any questions.
