4-H Sheep ID Day - Johnson County

Sheep ID Day – Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

  • All Market Lambs and Commercial Ewes that you might want to show must be tagged during the ID Day. Market Lambs and Commercial Ewes not identified at the fairgrounds that day will not be eligible to show at the County and/or State Fair.  Commercial Yearling Ewes who still have a 5-digit county tag in place from last year do not need to come to ID day unless they need a Shearwell 840-RFID tag.
  •  All Registered Ewes must be identified with an Official USDA Scrapie Identification AND ID that matches registration papers.
  •  State Fair Eligibility -Registered Ewes that need Shearwell 840-RFID Tags to show at state fair will need to be brought to Sheep ID Day to be tagged. If your registered ewe already has an 840-RFID tag, that number may be used in 4-H online to enroll the animal.
  •  4-H Members may identify a maximum of 30 sheep total in 4-H Online. In Johnson County, the 4-H member may exhibit a maximum of 10 sheep total.
