Kayla Wright
Kayla started as a Purdue Extension Community Development Educator in the Marion County office in December 2020. She was an active member of the Beginner’s Guide to Grant Writing, Facilitative Leadership, and Local Government Education teams. She has a passion for making connections that result in greater community impact.
She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in political science with minors in Sociology, Spanish, and Law & Public Policy. Kayla recently completed her Master’s in Public Administration from Purdue Global. Her career began as a Legislative Assistant for the IN House of Representatives before moving into a role at the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office as Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocate. She was very involved with community communications, attending lots of neighborhood meetings and collaborating with local stakeholders.
Kayla currently lives in Indianapolis with her cat, Joya. She enjoys exploring local coffee shops, markets, and parks/trails in her free time.
