4-H youth interested in this project will develop and utilize marketable skills in self-discipline, critical thinking, and communication, as they are challenged to develop a 4-H resume.

The experimental learning model is used throughout this project to maximize the opportunities for both youth development and aerospace related outcomes.
4-H youth interested in the Animal Poster project will get to create an educational poster about an animal of their choice. This is a good way for the 4-H youth to get the chance to learn and still be apart of the project without having to own their own animal.
The Animal Poster (State Fair Eligible - Cat, Dog, Llama/Alpaca, Poultry, Rabbit) provides the opportunity for youth to learn valuable information about properly caring for the species. Subjects such as general care, nutrition, housing, and health care are presented in the curricular materials.
4-H youth participating in the Arts and Crafts Project will get the chance to be able to create different art pieces. There are many categories to choose from such as Fine Arts, Needle Craft, Model Craft and Miscellaneous.
4-H youth interested in beef cattle will learn about selection, management practices, safety, reproduction, nutrition, marketing, and showing cattle.
4-H youth interested in the beef feeder project will learn about rate of gain, grading systems, animal science careers, and diseases.
4-H youth interested in the beekeeping project will learn about the different types of honey, how to make and package the honey, setting up a beehive, and the safe handling of the bees.
4-H youth interested in the cat project will learn about how raising a cat or kitten, different cat breeds, and the work that goes along with taking care of your cat.
4-H youth interested in the Child Development project will learn about keeping children safe and healthy, guiding behavior, and learn about the developing child.
Youth that participate in the 4-H Collections Project will be able to show off their collection and explain the different reasons why they started their collection. It will also help youth track their collection by keeping accurate records.
4-H youth interested in the Consumer Clothing project will be able to learn about and identify characteristics of a good fit, practice clothing care, and learn color terminology. Youth will also learn how to repair clothing.
The Creative Arts 4-H project allows youth to express their creative skills and talents of a related hobby or interest.
The 4-H Crops project allows youth the opportunity to explore hands-on crop production. With the opportunity to grow a variety of crops including corn, soybeans, oats, and wheat, youth learn about the different components of agriculture production. While learning and applying practices to control insects and disease, harvesting, storage, and marketing, youth will gain valuable life skills such as a wise use of resources, keeping records, conflict resolution, and personal safety.
4-H youth interested in dairy cattle will learn about working safely with the cattle, nutrition, caring for the animals, milk processing and dairy products.
4-H youth interested in dairy feeder project will learn rate of gain, a healthy weight range for the animal, and health care that is necessary.
4-H youth interested in taking the dairy steer project will learn about selection, management practices, safety, reproduction, nutrition, marketing, and showing cattle.
4-H youth interested in the dog project will learn about different breeds,grooming, training techniques, and how to keep a dog healthy.

4-H youth interested in the Electric will learn how to create a circuit board and understand all the electrical wiring. They will also learn safety precautions to remember when using a electrical solder.
4-H youth interested in the Entomology project will learn about different insects, how to collect them, and how to pin them for preservation in a collection.
4-H youth interested in the Floriculture project will learn the basic information and skills to grow healthy plants and flowers.
4-H youth interested in the foods project will get the chance to experience new things,from making different food, to learning about cooking in general. Whether it's new techniques, or new foods, youth will get the chance to experiment and/or try something new.
The 4-H Alternative Cooking project is designed to inform youth about the safety of preparing different foods in different household appliances and to encourage them to have fun in the kitchen as they prepare different foods.
The forestry project will help you to learn how to identify trees, uses of trees, the benefits of trees, and the importance of our woodlands. A knowledge of trees and woodland management leads to a greater enjoyment of the outdoors. An understanding of tree characteristics will allow future landowners to choose the best varieties for urban or rural benefits that include cooling, wildlife habitat, and reducing erosion and other types of pollution.
4-H youth interested in the Garden project will learn about planning a vegetable garden, planting, fertilizing, different vegetable pests, harvesting, storage techniques and careers.
4-H youth interested in the Genealogy project will learn how to collect data about their families past and be able create things such as a history and a family tree.
4-H youth interested in the Geology project will learn the fascinating hobby of "rock hunting." Geology also involves studying the earth's crust, its layers, and their history. Youth will learn to identify rocks, minerals, and fossils that may be found in Indiana.
4-H youth interested in the goat project will learn about working safely with the animals, nutrition, different types of goats, and animal care.
4-H youth will develop and utilize planning/organizing skills involving critical thinking, problem solving, and communication, as they are challenged to create a marketing piece to promote the 4-H program or a business.
4-H youth interested in the health project will learn basic first aid treatments, and as the members grow through out the years they will learn more and more about staying healthy and being fit.
4-H youth in the Home Environment project will get the chance to create different pieces of furniture and see how working with color can really change the perception of a room. Members will also learn money management by keeping records of the money spent during the course project.
4-H youth interested in the Horse & Pony project will learn about nutrition, different breeds, grooming, health care, basic horsemanship skills, basic seats, and showmanship in regards to their horse.
Youth participating in the 4-H Legos/Construction Toys will be able to use their own imagination and ingenuity when creating their display.
Youth engagement in local 4-H programs can lead to life skill development among 4-H youth. The aim of the venture was to discover whether or not the Steuben County 4-H Program is successfully molding productive, contributing members of society. Check out the results here:
Youth in grades K-2 have the opportunity to learn about multiple subjects.
For many, if not most 4-H youth, the culmination of the program year focuses on project evaluation, or what is commonly known as 4-H project judging. By way of a judges clinic held in Northeast Indiana, the pool of volunteers enlarges and adds to the diversity of adults volunteering to positively influence youth.
4-H youth interested in the photography project will learn about the best techniques on how to take pictures. Youth will get experience taking landscape and portrait pictures with different lenses and settings to achieve different effects.
4-H youth interested in poultry will learn about different types of poultry and their care. Youth will also learn about incubation, growing your own feed, and what makes a healthy flock.
4-H youth interested in the Rabbit project will learn about housing and the equipment needed, health, show preparation, marketing, and caring for rabbits.
4-H youth participating in the Scrapbooking project will create a cohesive book with pictures and captions to represent different activities that they have participated in throughout the past year year. Youth will also learn different techniques on how to scrapbook.
4-H youth interested in Sewing will learn the proper techniques of sewing and how they can improve their sewing skills. Youth will learn proper forms on the sewing machine and how to apply a facing or binding.
4-H youth interested in sheep will learn about management practices, health maintenance, carcass evaluation, working safely with the animal, sheep industry, and sheep breeds.
4-H youth interested in Shooting Sports will learn the safe operation of firearms and archery equipment. Youth will also have the chance to attend workshops where they will be given the opportunity to practice with various equipment.
4-H youth interested in the Small Engines project will learn about the different types of engines. Youth will also learn about the basic and diagnostic tools necessary to potentially repair small engines.
4-H youth interested in the Soil and Water project will learn about why studying soil and water are important, how the rain enters soil, and how the soil may be different depending on location.
4-H youth interested in the Sport Fishing project will test knowledge of youth in regards to fishing and its components. Youth will also learn how to create a rig to aid in catching fish. Youth will learn about different types of baits and their usage.
The 4-H Sports and Recreation project allows youth to showcase a favorite sport or recreational activity by sharing an aspect of the activity in a public presentation.
4-H youth interested in the Started Calf project will learn the proper ways to take care and nurture a healthy Started Calf.
The 4-H Sustainability project teaches youth about sustainable practices, resource management, and the impact humans have on the environment. Youth will practice resourcefulness alongside self-responsibility and advocacy.
4-H youth interested in swine will learn about the digestive system, space requirements, working safely with the animal, baby pig management and breeding management.
4-H youth interested Agricultural Tractor Driving will be able to learn about different tractors used in agriculture and how to drive them. Youth will also learn about the different parts of each machine and how to repair a tractor.
4-H youth interested in Lawn and Tractor Driving will get the opportunity to be able to learn how to work and drive a tractor. Youth will also learn about different components that keep a tractor running.
4-H youth interested in the Verbal Communications project will learn techniques for presentations and public speaking. The skills learned are used in many areas throughout the 4-H program.
4-H youth interested in Veterinary Science project will learn about different animals and the safety procedures that go along with them. They will learn about the tools used to check the animals health and important safety precautions to take note of.
The 4-H Video Gaming and Computer Coding project will provide a platform for youth to explore the science behind gaming and coding and convey their findings as a public presentation.
4-H youth interested in the Weather and Climate Science project will learn about atmospheric changes, movement, and processes. Youth will also learn about meteorology and climatology.
4-H youth will learn about wildlife habitats, endangered species, and the food web.
4-H youth interested in the Woodworking project learn how to properly cut and assemble wood to create a useful item. Youth will also learn about proper safety techniques and equipment.
