Purdue Extension: Expert Resources for COVID-19

Safety Plans Needed for In Person 4-H Meetings and Events

July 9, 2020

In person 4-H meetings, programs, and activities are currently permitted once a safety plan has been approved. This requires some planning as the it must be submitted to Cathy Boerste at least three weeks before the event. She will review the plan and send it to the Director of Extension for his approval. These plans are required to help ensure that we conduct 4-H events in a way that minimizes the risk of spreading COVID-19 and other diseases. Once a plan is accepted, it can be used for future meetings or events as long as all parts of the plan remain the same (location, activities, number of participants, etc.)

A template for the safety plan has been sent to all 4-H volunteers. If you need another copy, contact Cathy Boerste. She can help you complete the form and streamline the process for you.

Virtual meetings and events remain an option. Groups are encouraged to discuss which format works best for all members, and which format most people are comfortable using.
