STATE FAIR ENTRY: One exhibit from each of the 3 divisions.
4-H Veterinary Science exhibits should be educational in nature covering one or more of the topics presented in the member’s manual and/or found in the 4-H Veterinary Science Leader’s Guide. An educational exhibit is one that should be able to teach other people about your topic. Choose a topic you think is interesting and apply your imagination.
Manual Requirements for All Levels: Complete at least seven of the regular activities and Booster Shots activities each year. Record the date (including the year) and activities completed on the charts on page 5 of your manual. Members must satisfactorily complete manual requirements to have their exhibit considered for any award above a blue ribbon placing.
Division 1 (Grades 3-5):
Exhibit a 22” x28” poster related to chapter 1, 2, or 3 of the manual. See page 5 for poster requirements.
Division 2 (Grades 6-8):
Exhibit a 22” x28” poster, display, or quiz board related to chapter 1, 2, or 3 of the manual. Display or quiz board should be no larger than 36”x36”x36”. See page 5 for poster requirements.
Division 3 (Grades 9-12):
Develop and assemble a teaching aid. A teaching aid is something that enhances learning, such as a model, game, activity, etc. Display Teaching Aid and two-page typed report, OR develop a project in conjunction with a veterinarian. Display the project with a report of the results, recommendations, findings, and conclusion, OR write a one-page outline of a workshop or demonstration you presented.
