Dry weather causing Indiana counties to enact burn bans

A few Indiana counties have already enacted open burning bans due to the dry weather conditions we are experiencing. Even if your county is not currently under a burn ban, always use caution when burning leaves, debris, or when enjoying a recreational fire!

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security current burn ban map can be viewed here: http://www.in.gov/dhs/burnban/

Camping, cookouts, and bonfires are always popular during crisp fall evenings. Always follow local regulations for any recreational fires while enjoying these activities! In addition, some Indiana state park properties may restrict campfires and cooking fires, especially in the counties affected by burn bans. Current state park advisories can be found at: https://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/7881.htm

Please check these sites regularly, as more counties will likely add burn bans if the dry stretch continues as is predicted.
