September - October Extension Express

Over the past few months, Purdue Extension Vermillion County has been very busy! This fall newsletter discusses everything from news within the Homemakers club to tips for holiday shoppers. You can learn more about planting trees and events that are soon to occur within Vermillion county by reading the attached PDF at the bottom of this page.

Here is one story featured on the newsletter:

Purdue Extension – Vermillion County, along with the Purdue Extension Women in Ag Team are hosting a free dinner program to help farm women with succession planning. Farm families often are very interested in succession and want to leave the farm to the next generation. When it comes time to start transferring management however, some farms run into some issues. These issues can be worked through with proper planning and the correct timing. Renee Wiatt, Family Business Management Specialist at the Purdue Institute for Family Business, will present “Transferring Farm Management: Ready to Move Forward?”. This discussion will give farm families some pointers about navigating the management transfer process, including some handouts for reference and to continue progress after the presentation.

The dinner program will be on Tuesday, September 21st at 6:00 pm in the 4-H Community Bldg. at the Vermillion County Fairgrounds in Cayuga Park. Seating is limited, and registration is required no later than September 14th at or by calling the Vermillion County Extension Office at 765-492-5330. This free dinner program is supported by the following sponsors: Farm Credit Mid-America, Indiana Soybean Alliance, and Indiana Corn Marketing Council.
