Perry-Spencer Crop Day Returns to In-person Format

After two years as a hybrid virtual/in-person event, the annual Perry-Spencer Crop Day program will be returning to its traditional format and location in 2023.  The program will be held Tuesday, March 14 at the St. Meinrad Community Center.  Registration and sponsor displays will open at 5:15 PM CDT with the meal beginning at 6:00 PM.  Crop Day is a joint effort between Purdue Extension and Soil & Water Conservation Districts in Perry and Spencer Counties.  The featured speaker this year is Hans Schmitz, Lead Agronomist with Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative (CCSI) and Purdue Extension.  Schmitz’s presentation will focus on the relationship between soil health, soil fertility and integrated pest management strategies.  This year’s program will also include presentations on anhydrous ammonia safety and revised pesticide applicator regulations recently implemented by the Office of Indiana State Chemist.  PARP and CCH applicator credit will be available, with 2 CCHs in categories 1, 14 and RT.

The cost to attend is $5.00 per person, which includes the meal.  Pre-registration is required by March 3.  Register online at www.tinyurl.com/cropday2023 or by calling Purdue Extension-Spencer County at (812) 362-8066 or Purdue Extension-Perry County at (812) 547-7084.  Download program flyer here.
