Purdue Extension will be hosting two workshops focused on food preservation. Individuals can attend to learn more about preserving food safely at home.
The first workshop will be on November 18,2024 from 10:00 - 3:00 PM ET at Purdue Extension office in Fulton County 2009 West 3rd St., Rochester, IN 46975. The topic of the day will be “Boiling Water Bath Canning” and will focus on making jams and jellies. The workshop will feature a lecture, hands-on practice with equipment, and a take home product made that day. Individuals will learn how to use boiling water bath canning equipment, safety on canning, and be able to ask questions. The second workshop will be hosted at the Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N Michigan St. Argos, IN 46501 and will cover “Pressure Canning” meats. This workshop will be held on November 22, 2024 10:00AM – 4:00 PM ET. The workshop will feature a lecture, hands-on practice with equipment, and a take home product made that day. Individuals will learn how to use a pressure canner to preserve food and discuss food safety. The cost of this workshop is $30. To register visit https://cvent.me/B00m0N by November 14th.
