Our keynote speaker is Kacy Atchison. Having lived through one of the worst life events possible, losing her brother, Kacy has become even more passionate about the importance of estate planning, and making sure it is done correctly. As an extension agent, she worked with agricultural operations in encouraging estate planning and helping them get started. But now, she has a powerful story to tell about her family’s journey due to losing her brother, and the holes they found in their estate plan. Losing a family member is tragic, but the impacts of a poorly done estate plan can be catastrophic, not just to your family but to your operation. Sharing her story gives others the opportunity to learn from her family’s mistakes, and take the steps to protect themselves. Kacy will be sharing lessons learned, advice on how to get started, and things to consider.

Our capnote speaker is Carey Portell.  Carey is a professional speaker by circumstance and author of “Facing Life Head On”. She has inspired thousands to change their perspectives by sharing her triumphs and challenges of her four-year recovery of being a survivor of a drunk driver. Receiving disabling injuries, Carey has become an expert of breaking through limitations. As a speaker, Carey will guide you on a journey of self-growth. Carey's journey is compelling, humbling and she shares it with gut wrenching honesty. Her keynote will focus on using the right attitude, granting grace, and finding the grit to overpower adversity in the agriculture community.
