Adult Mental Health First Aid *Two Upcoming Classes* October 10, 2024 & November 21, 2024

Purdue Extension is offering two upcoming Mental Health Courses this fall. See below for details and registration information.

 Mental Health First Aid teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

After this course you will be able to:

  • Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges
  • Understand how to interact with a person in crisis
  • Know how to connect a person with help
  • Use self-care tools and techniques

 The first course is in person and will be held in Vincennes. The second course is virtual. Details for both are below or in the attached flyers. Please contact Tonya Short, short43@purdue.edu if you have any questions.

Purdue University is a pre-approved provider of Category 1 Continuing Education for all of the following pursuant to Indiana Code 25-1-4-0.2:

  • Mental Health Counselors and Associates
  • Marriage and Family Therapists and Associates
  • Social Workers, Clinical Social Workers and Associates
  • Addiction Counselors, Clinical Addiction Counselors and Associates

Participants receive a certificate upon completion of the entire course attesting to contact hours, though it is participant responsibility to verify continuing education eligibility for their profession.
