Veronica Bullock grew up in Decatur County, Indiana where she developed a love for the outdoors helping her dad and grandpa on the family farm in Clarksburg, guiding horseback rides in Metamora, and spending all her waking childhood moments outside. She married her husband in July of 2020 and they live on the family farm.
Veronica received a Bachelor’s of Science from Purdue University in Natural Resources and Environmental Science with a Wildlife concentration in 2017. While at Purdue, she was actively involved in undergraduate research and presenting hellbender Extension programs. She took the graduate level course Theory and Application of Natural Resources Extension Programming where she learned how to write extension plans and lesson plans. She also worked two seasons at Versailles State Park as an interpretive naturalist educating the public about Indiana’s natural resources.
After graduation, Veronica worked as a Purdue Extension Associate Educator and wildlife field technician where she developed extension programs for the hellbender salamander project. She also spent a season in Lewiston, Idaho working for Idaho Fish and Game doing trout and salmon surveys, and worked for the IDNR Division of Forestry as a karst technician conducting cave and bat surveys. She also serves as the volunteer Education and Outreach Coordinator for Decatur County Farm Bureau.
Veronica is VERY excited to be a part of the Extension team and incorporate her past work experience to expand the reach of current Extension programming in Franklin County. Her goals for the Franklin County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension program are:
