What is 4-H?

4-H is the largest youth serving organization in the U.S.A.  It is a volunteer-led organization that reaches youth through a variety of programs in both rural and urban settings.

4-H programs are hands-on, age-appropriate, and university-based.  4-H helps youth improve their self-confidence, learn responsibility and subject matter, and develop leadership, citizenship, communication, and decision-making skills that can be applied over a lifetime.

Why Join 4-H?

 4-H is FUN!  Kids have fun learning with new and old friends in clubs and classrooms, at meetings, social activities, tours, trips, camps, and fairs. They learn about themselves and experience new challenges.

For older teens, 4-H offers opportunities to develop and test their leadership skills as 4-H volunteers working with youth.

For adults, 4-H offers opportunities for training in a variety of areas including youth development, instruction and more! 

4-H offers something for everyone, there are many different project areas to choose from to suit all interests and hobbies.

Who Can Join 4-H?

4-H is for anyone and everyone in grades 3-12.

Mini 4-H is for kids in grades K-2.

4-H is NOT just for farm kids...it's for ALL kids!

How Do I Join 4-H?

1. Between October 1-May15, you can enroll and pay online at v2.4honline.com (Note: to get the most out of your experience, we encourage enrollment by January 15.)

3. We can help you find a 4-H club that is best suited for you and help you to connect with the volunteer club leaders.
4. Pay $25 program fee to your 4-H club leader or the Extension Office. (There is no fee for Mini 4-H, there is a discount for families of 4 or more and scholarships may also be available upon request.)
5. If you do not live in Franklin County Indiana, contact the 4-H staff at the Cooperative Extension Service Office in your county. Indiana residents can click here, to locate your county office.
