Each member will build and exhibit one article. Any type of model is suitable. Examples are cars, trucks, trains, ships, and tanks. Any dimension (length, width, or height) over 24 inches will be penalized. Kits are acceptable.

Exhibit division is based strictly on the grade of the member during the year.  With each division, members are encouraged to increase the level of difficulty as they progress through the project. Level of difficulty can be determined by the number of pieces, gluing needed, painting and type of painting and use of decals. For example a 5th grader should do a more difficult model than what was done in 3rd grade. By 11th and 12th grades the member should be doing a very difficult model.

  • Division 1 – Grades 3-5 – snap kits, models not requiring painting, gluing or decals are acceptable.
  • Division 2 - Grades 6-8 – must use 1 of the three:  gluing, painting or decals.
  • Division 3 – Grades 9-12 – must use 2 of the following:  gluing, painting or decals.
