4-H Cats Project

  • Cat Level 1: Purr-fect Pals
  • Cat Level 2: Climbing Up!
  • Cat Level 3: Leaping Forward

 

Exhibit Options 

(May choose one or more)

  • Show your cat at the Blackford County 4-H Fair.  Cat must be in a cage or travel carrier.  Project will be judged on appropriateness of the cat, cleanliness of the cage, cleanliness of the animal, health of the animal, and the 4-H’ers knowledge about the pet.  The judge will ask the 4-H’er questions about the pet.  They need to tell how to care for the animal and some basic information about their pet.
  • Exhibit a poster on a topic from a manual.  A Champion and Reserve Champion may be awarded in the cat poster section.  The overall Grand and Reserve Grant Champions will be selected from all animal/livestock posters.
  • Action Display/ Demonstration.

Health Requirements

Your cat should be in good health and not showing any signs of illness.  The judge can disqualify an entry if he/she feels the cat is not in good health.

Display at County Fair

We will take a picture of you and your cat to display during the week of the 4-H Fair.  It will be displayed with your scorecard and ribbon(s).

State Fair Cat Show

Anyone wishing to show at the State Fair may do so.  See State Fair Premium Book for Rules and Regulations.  Your cat must have health papers signed by a licensed veterinarian to participate in the State Fair cat show.

State Fair Poster

The Champion Cat Poster  from each level will be selected to represent Blackford County at the Indiana State Fair.
