Thank you very much for working so hard on the Purdue Broadband Team effort. Your work resulted in thousands of speed tests being completed and a noticeable spike in applications to the Indiana Connectivity Program (see chart). Currently, the Indiana Broadband Office is finalizing details to roll out the Broadband Equity Access and Adoption (BEAD) program. We anticipate broadband projects in your community starting by the summer of next year. Read more about your great work here: Leveraging Community Engagement and Trust to Address the Digital Divide in Indiana
In the meantime, the Purdue Center for Regional Development (PCRD) partnered with Purdue Extension Community Development and other organizations, including Extension programs in three states, and submitted a $12 million nationally competitive digital equity proposal. This proposal will focus on digital literacy, devices and other areas. In addition, the state will announce its own digital equity grants soon. Stay tuned!
