Purdue's Beginning Farmer and Rancher program is offering new and aspiring farmers an opportunity to visit 10 Indiana agribusinesses and learn from Purdue Extension educators, producers and other experts about topics ranging from organic produce to aquaponics. The series of tours runs from May through October and includes stops throughout the state.

I hope you are looking forward to lots of fun and excitement during 4-H Camp this year. We are fortunate to be part of the West Central IN Camping Association at Shakamak State Park near Jasonville, and I'm sure you will enjoy the activities that the counselors and junior directors plan for camp.

2016 Goat Workshop and ID Clinic Dates
May 4 4:00-6:00 p.m., County Goat ID Clinic, Morgan County 4-H Fairgrounds, Swine building
Costs: county tags $1.00, eye scan $2.00
The George Watson Family will offer one $500.00 scholarship to a qualified Morgan County 4-H Swine member to help further his/her educational goals and to recognize his/her involvement in the swine industry.
Swine tagging days will be Sunday May 1st from 1:00pm-5:00pm and Saturday May 7th from 8:00am-12:00 Noon. Both dates will be held in the swine barn at the fairgrounds. During these times you may either bring your pigs to the fairgrounds to be tagged or you can pick up tags, and tag your pigs yourself. If you are tagging your swine yourself, you need to pick up your swine tags at one of the tagging days.
There will be a charge this year for all tags of $3.00 each.
