4-H Scrapbook

Monroe County Achievement Record Sheet required

Exhibit Requirements:

  1. Scrapbook should be an 8.5”x 11” or 12”x12” post bound or strap hinge type. No three ring binders or spiral bound books.
  2. All albums must have a name label placed on the first page of the exhibit (attached to the plastic page protector) for display purposes.
  3. The Fair Entry tag (available from the Extension Office, will be placed on the Outside front cover.
  4. All materials must be acid fee and lignin free.
  5. Page protectors are required.
  6. Use photo squares, mono-adhesives, and other approved scrapbooking adhesives to assemble your pages. DO NOT use rubber cement, school glue, or tape.
  7. Minimum usage of stickers and patterned paper.
  8. All pictures on each individual page must be of the same theme or topic.
  9. Pages must have a minimum of two photos (same subject) each. A page is one side.
  10. Must include a journaling page as the first page of your scrapbook.

NOTE: If including exhibit pages from previous years, please number and mark current year exhibit pages for judge’s clarification.

Division 1: Grades 3-4

Exhibit 4 pages – Layout and cropping requirements include the use of stickers, die cuts, straight edges, and corner rounders. Decorative scissors may be used on paper only. Circles, ovals, etc. may be used on paper, not photos. The journaling requirement includes writing one sentence (on a separate page – placed at the beginning of your scrapbook) telling about the subject of your scrapbook.

Division 2: Grades 5-6

Exhibit 6 pages - Layout and cropping requirements include the use of stickers, die cuts, straight edges, and corner rounders. Decorative scissors may be used on paper only. Circles, ovals, etc. may be used on paper, not photos. The journaling requirement includes writing three sentences (on a separate page – placed at the beginning of your scrapbook) telling about the subject of your scrapbook.

Division 3: Grades 7-8

Exhibit 8 pages- Layout and cropping requirements include more creative layouts. Circles, ovals and other shaped templates may be used. Do not use Silhouette cropping at this level. The journaling requirement includes writing a paragraph with at least five sentences (on a separate page – placed at the beginning of your scrapbook) telling about your scrapbook.

Division 4: Grades 9-12

Exhibit 10 pages – Layouts and cropping requirements should include quilt type pages and a variety of layouts. Silhouette cropping can be used as well as a variety of other techniques. The journaling requirement includes writing a complete story (on a separate page – placed at the beginning of your scrapbook) about the memory of one or more of the photos in your scrapbook. Please label the photo(s) used.
