2020 EXTENSION MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM
In 2020, there will be a Statewide Virtual Purdue EMG Basic Training from August 25-December 15, 2020 (includes final exam due date). The statewide live webinars will be held on Tuesdays, from 6:30-8:30 pm (ET). Many counties have come together to offer this program which includes a local county connection hour. Here in Marion County, the local county connection hour will be on Thursdays from 1:30-2:30 pm (Class 2020-1) OR 6:30-7:30 pm (Class 2020-2) each week. This will be offered live virtually through a link you will receive. Marion County application forms are near the bottom of this page under Related Files (contact email@example.com if you cannot print the form). Additionally, an online information sharing platform, Basecamp, will be used to share additional handouts and other information with participants.
Application and Registration Information
Please read the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Program Policy Guide and complete, sign, and return the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Application and Agreement to: Purdue Extension-Marion County, Master Gardener Class, 1202 E 38th Street, Discovery Hall, Suite 201, Indianapolis, IN 46205. Fill out Form EMG-1 for MG Class 2020-1 for the afternoon county connection OR Form EMG-1 for MG Class 2020-2 for the evening county connection (see Related Files below). All applicants are also required to consent to national and state sex and violent offender registry checks and provide evidence of a government issued photo ID to your local EMG County Coordinator or designated Purdue Extension staff. Photo ID checks are done live at the local office or virtually via Zoom. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 317-275-9286 first (office is not open to the public until at least August 17).
Upon confirmation of acceptance of your application and providing evidence of government issued photo ID, an online class registration link will be sent to you. The registration options are listed below (registration deadline is August 14):
- $175.00 for an individual registration with print version of Purdue EMG Manual. Pay an additional $25.00 to add the digital version of the manual.
- $270.00 for two people sharing a print version of the Purdue EMG Manual. Pay an additional $25.00, to add the digital version of the manual. (Sharing works best for two people in the same household.)
Financial help for about 50 percent of the registration fee is available for a limited number of individuals who need it. E-mail: email@example.com.
Your copy of the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Manual will be shipped to you prior to the start of the training.
If someone cancels registration prior to August 14, they will be charged 12% of the registration fee + $5.00. There are no refunds after August 14, 2020. Purdue University is not responsible for expenses incurred due to cancellations by registrants. Purdue University reserves the right to cancel any program. Registrants will receive a full refund in the event that Purdue University cancels the program
