The Digibytes 4-H Robotics Club and the 4-H Stem Club team up to provide access to two different kinds of Robotics
LEGO Mindstorms are robots that can be built with LEGO materials. It has a brick that is programmed to perform many different tasks. All supplies needed are provided by the club. The robot kits, laptops and
cords are supplied. However, if members want to bring their own laptops, they may do so. The LEGO Mindstorms software can be installed on your personal computer and members can work on the programming aspect at home. At this time, robots cannon be checked out, but the programs can be tested at our regular meetings. Members are encouraged to work with other members, however, all members of the group need to be comfortable with the material being learned. Members will meet once a month. Feel free to come to either group A or B meetings to get started.
VEX robots are more akin to “erector set” construction (if you are old you know what that means). They are more advanced in the sense the parts can be physically modified and the programming is a little less intuitive than Legos. Meetings are held at the Horizon Christian Fellowship Central. The address is 1001 E. Palmer St., Indianapolis, IN 46203.
