Thoughts on decision to purchase animals - Although there is no doubt that adjustments and disruptions in our schedules and plans will occur, we only know our plans through May 18th at this point. We are not in a position to cancel things past May 18th as these decisions will ultimately be made by the University, State Government, CDC, or President. We will be in regular communication with updates. Families should consider their comfort level with financial risk as our future is unknown. If families are concerned about financial investments, and are unwilling to take the risk, then alternative avenues for providing their children a positive 4-H experience should be considered. Many 4-H projects have a lower financial investment and yield positive educational experiences which will develop skills for life. It is our hope that families will leverage the current situation by building some life skills at home and not live in fear of the future. While we appreciate the pre-planning and forethought, we can only conquer one day at a time.
