CONSUMER CLOTHING
Revised 10/15/18
Educational materials are designed to teach clothing selection, wardrobe planning, care of clothing, and personal grooming. Included are activities to be completed at home and in stores. Project members will learn how to make wise clothing decisions. Color, line, style, fit, care, quality, and price will be studied.
- Record Sheets are due to your club leader by July 8.
Project Rules:
- ALL completed record sheets must be turned in to the 4‑H Club leader by July 8, and must be securely attached in the green “Indiana 4‑H Club Member's Record Book.”
- Complete one activity from each group in the manual. Complete the activities specified in the supplement. Write your results or answers in a notebook. Label each activity so you can discuss it with the judge during your personal interview.
- Interviews and modeling of garments are a part of the total judging experience and will be held during pre‑fair judging. (Members will not participate in the Fashion Revue at the fair.) Tell the judge about your purchases, what you learned and about the activities you completed.
- Notebooks only will be displayed during the fair. Be sure to keep years separated and labeled.
- It is REQUIRED that all posters, notebooks, and display boards include a reference list indicating where information was obtained, giving credit to the original author, to complete the 4-H member’s exhibit. This reference list should/might include website links, people and professionals interviewed, books, magazines, etc. It is recommended this reference list be attached to the back of a poster or display board, be the last page of a notebook, or included as a part of the display visible to the public. A judge is not to discredit an exhibit for the manner in which references are listed.
- For personal safety concerns, notebooks exhibited should only contain name, county, grade, level and club, and no personally identifiable information such as mailing address or phone number.
