This project allows the 4-H'er to learn more about horses and ponies without owning one. They learn horsemanship and gain an understanding of the business of training and raising horses.

For the 4-H Home Environment project, 4-H members at each grade level may choose from three possible exhibit categories: a furnitur item and notebook, a design board (poster), or a portfolio (notebook). Level 3 participants will also have a fourth choice: independent study.
NOTE: Each level has several options per category from which to choose. We suggest that 4-H members either choose a different option each year or show how they expanded on the same option (portfolio and furniture categories
4-H Horse & Pony Project Guidelines
The Microwave Project contains exciting youth activities that focus on using the microwave to prepare everything from simple snacks to complete meals. Each learner guide has activities focused on the following: Techniques and Utensils, Nutrition, Food Preparation, and Meal Preparation. The Personality project is a series of educational materials and activites that promotes individuals learning about themselves, thier friends, their families, and their communities. In the early divisions, 4-H'ers learn about themselves, safety when they're home alone, how to be their own best friend, and ways to solve problems and making decisions. In the later divisions, they learn about careers, handling money and citizenship.
The Photography project can turn an ordinary shutterbug into a talented photographer. Beginners may choose to exhibit black and white or colored prints. The more advanced photographer may also choose black and white, color, or digital salon prints.
In the 4-H Recycling project, members will learn what they can do in their home as well as their community to protect our environment. Participants can help their families to reduce, recycle, and reuse materials that they use each and every day!
This is a COUNTY ONLY project, it is not eligible for the State Fair.
