This is your online resource for the 4-H Veterinary Science project. The record sheet is below. If you have any questions, please refer to the 4-H Handbook or contact the Extension Office.

Here are the requirements for this project:

VETERINARY SCIENCE

  1. Complete a minimum of 4 activities per year from the Level 1 Veterinary Science manual.
  2. Turn in your manual with your exhibit at judging.
  3. Complete a record sheet.

All posters, notebooks, and display boards must include a reference list indicating where information was obtained, giving credit to the original author, to complete the 4-H member’s exhibit. This reference list should/might include web site links, people and professionals interviewed, books, magazines, etc. It is recommended this reference list be attached to the back of a poster or display board, be the last page of a notebook, or included as part of the display visible to the public. A judge is not to discredit an exhibit for the manner in which references are listed.

Exhibit Requirements

Level 1 (Grades 3-5)

    Exhibit (Do a minimum of one):

  1. 22”x28” poster related to Chapter 1, 2 or 3.
  2. Action Demonstration - Sign up in the Extension Office by Wednesday before the fair.

Level 2 (Grades 6-8)

    Exhibit (Do a minimum of one):

  1. 22”x28” poster, display or quiz board related to Chapter 1, 2 or 3. Display or quiz board should be no larger than 36”x36”x36”.
  2. Action Demonstration - Sign up in the Extension Office by Wednesday before the fair.

Level 3 (Grades 9-12)

    Exhibit (Do a minimum of one):

  1. Develop and assemble a teaching aid. Display teaching aid and two-page typed report.
  2. Develop a project in conjunction with a veterinarian. Display the project with a report of the results, recommendations, findings, and conclusions
  3. Write a one page outline of a workshop or demonstration presented.
  4. Action Demonstration - Sign up in the Extension Office by Wednesday before the fair.
