We are elated with the news that Eric Imboden will be joining us as the new IT Specialist and will begin work today, Monday, May 2nd. Eric will be ensuring that all of our technology needs are met by teaching us and consulting with us on the tools that Extension currently uses or could potentially use to assist us in our work responsibilities.
Eric is a Missouri native, but has made his way to Indiana after wanting to finish his degree at Purdue. He comes to us with over 20 years of experience at companies such as Ernst&Young, several small software and consulting companies, and later on Eli Lilly.
Deciding to the leave the corporate world in 2010, Eric chose to pursue a career at Purdue, as he enjoys working with students and thrives in collaborative working environments. Most recently he has enjoyed the position as the Academic IT Specialist for the Department of Entomology.
When he is not working, you can usually find him playing or listening to music, reading, working on his endlessly fixable old house, or roasting coffee. Eric has three sons, two of which graduated from Purdue, and one that he refers to as a ‘traitor’ as he is set to graduate from Ball State in a few weeks. Eric enjoys spending time with his family and discussing/arguing sports with his sons.
Please welcome Eric to Extension!
