Hardwood 101 Industry Tour, Hardwood University

Visit a tree farm, logging job, sawmill, veneer mill, drying yard, and furniture or cabinet manufacturer. Discuss industry processes, challenges, and opportunities with principal owners or managers. Gain an understanding of industry vocabulary, supply chain, and connection to upstream and downstream processes.

The Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association (IHLA) is a non-profit trade organization comprised of sawmills, wholesale brokers, equipment vendors, secondary manufacturers, loggers, landowners and others who recognize the benefits of working together on issues and projects for the good of the hardwood industry. Today, IHLA has members in 27 states and 3 Canadian provinces.
