The 2017 Gardenfest, sponsored by Boone County Master Gardener Association and Purdue Extension – Boone County, will be held on Saturday, April 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Farm Bureau Community Building at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon. Some of the many activities and events for the day include:

Featured Gardening Speakers:

  • 10:00 a.m.       The Good, Bad and Ugly of Indiana Wildflowers by Myrene Brown, Boone County Master Gardener
  • 11:30 a.m.       Edible Landscapes by Amy Mullen, Spotts Garden Center
  • 1:00 p.m.         Moths and Native Trees by Jane Diedrich, Boone County Master Gardener

The first 300 attendees will receive a free tree seedling. Master Gardeners will be on hand to assist with your garden questions. Door prizes will also be awarded. Vendors featuring flowers, garden art, herbs, succulents, hostas, horticulture information, gifts and more will be on hand.

You may also pick up free Purdue Extension garden publications and have your soil pH tested. Pre-owned garden tools and items will be available for sale and sandwiches and homemade desserts will be for sale from the Garden Café. There will be fun activities for kids at the Pansy Patch.
