Junior Leader News – March 14th, 2019
NEXT JUNIOR LEADER MEETING – Monday, March 18th
The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 18th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We will meet in the 4-H Building at the fairgrounds (enter at north end of building). Please note that the meeting will be at least 90 minutes this month due to our guest speaker’s presentation. Invite all 7th-12th graders you know; new members are always welcome!
So who’s this guest speaker that needs more time? We will have a visit from a K-9 officer and his K-9 companion!! Our service project for this meeting will be making a $300 donation to the K-9 care fund of the officer’s choice.
Members of the Executive Committee will be providing “puppy chow” as our refreshment for the evening, and drinks will be provided by the Junior Leader treasury.
Executive Committee: Please plan to arrive at 5:45 to help set up for the meeting. And don’t forget that Joan wants each of you to always have two activities that you can facilitate on a moment’s notice… if a meeting every goes shorter than announced, you’ll fill in with activities!!
The all-new Junior Leader manual is now available for download at the bottom of this website. Copies were available at the February meeting and will also be available at next week’s meeting (If you received a print copy from your club leader prior to the February JL meeting, pitch it! It’s the wrong one.). Please take time to review the manual NOW so you make sure you’re working toward completing the necessary tasks!
4-H SHINING STARS PERFORMING ARTS EVENT: April 12th
Our annual variety show will be held on Friday, April 12th at the Memorial Opera House in Valparaiso. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. but we would like Junior Leaders to arrive at 5:00 to prepare for the event. Our Junior Leader organization serves as the host of this event. A committee is needed to help plan the event. If interested in taking part in this committee, please stick around after the March meeting adjourns.
Do YOU have a talent to share? We’d love to see you on stage… you do not necessarily need to be part of a club skit. Want to recite a monoluge, play your violin, perform a two-person comedy sketch, or dance your heart out, whatever your talent, we want to see it. Get the sign-up info at http://bit.ly/20194HShiningStars.
BoilerMAKER Blast – SPRING BREAK STEM ROAD SHOW COMING TO A LIBRARY NEAR YOU!

Check out everything from our 3-D Printer to programmable robots! Refreshments will be served. See the flyer enclosed in the downloadable March news at the bottom of this page, or find the events on our Facebook page. 4-H 4-MILE HUSTLE
Please be thinking of potential sponsors for our event! This event is the fundraiser that allows us to conduct the service projects we do. We can’t have such an awesome event without financial support from local businesses and organizations. Questions about sponsorships? Contact Joan (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Justin (email@example.com).
