This project provides youth with the opportunity to recognize the importance of trees and forests. They will learn how to identify different types of forests, trees, and forest products. They will develop skills necessary to keep forests healthy.
The foods project is designed to help youth have fun in the kitchen as they prepare different foods, do fun experiments, and go on fact finding missions. There are six categories: healthy food selection, smart food purchasing, food safety and science, food preparation, food preservation and careers and food around the world.
Youth will learn basic information and skills needed to grow healthy plants and flowers. They will have the opportunity to design and make flower arrangements.
This project is divided into Fine Arts, Models, Needlecraft, and Basic Crafts. Participants learn about their particular craft and develop skills through practice and making an exhibit.
Educational materials are designed to teach clothing selection, wardrobe planning, care of clothing, and personal grooming. Included are activities to be completed at home and in stores.
This project allows youth to use their building skills and imaginations to complete construction set exhibits. Some popular construction sets include Lego, K ' Nex, Lincoln Logs, etc. Youth also learn record keeping skills.
