Special Interest Lessons

Please check which programs you are interested in attending. Include ALL program selections. Return entire form with ALL fees payable to Allen County Extension Homemakers. Send to Dawn Scheuman, 4001 Crescent Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Registration open until class is full or 10 days prior to program. Pre-registration and payment are REQUIRED. Reminders are sent prior to each lesson. Invite a friend to join in the fun! 

Creating Pomanders (January 21st at 1:00pm):

As the weather turns colder, there is less work and play outdoors and more need for fun indoors. Making orange and clove     pomander balls is a perfect wintertime project for any age. Naturally fragrant pomanders of different sizes can be used in crafts, adorn Christmas trees, arranged in centerpieces and hung in windows. All supplies provided. Cost $5.00 per person.

Wood Stenciling (Rescheduled to March 2 at 1:00pm):

Make and take your own farmhouse style project! Learn the art of staining, distress painting and stenciling to create a sign measuring 10” x 10”. Many sayings and images to choose from. All materials provided. Cost $25 per person.

Success with Seeds & Seedlings (March 18th at 7:00pm):

Fear seeds no more! Advanced Master Gardener Jackie Hoopfer will teach you how to successfully start seeds and how to transplant young seedlings. Everyone goes home with a seed starting kit and transplanted seedlings. Class size limited to 24. All supplies will be provided. Cost $5 per person.

Recycled Sweaters (April 16th at 1:00pm):

Breathe new life into your old sweaters by joining  Sharon Bryan as she teaches how to give old sweaters a fresh new feel or new size. Examples of re-invented wearable sweater art will be on display along with hands-on instructions. BRING: 2-4 complimentary sweaters, your own serger, thread, scissors and straight pins. If you don’t have a sweater to refurbish, sweaters will be available to choose from. Class size is limited to 15. Cost $30.00 per person.

Yard Art (May 13th at 6:30pm): 

In today’s world of repurposing, learn to breathe new life into your kitchen clutter. This fun, hands-on class will show you ways to invent whimsical yard art out of assorted unused dishes and glassware. All supplies are provided. Class size is limited to 20. Cost $10.00 per person.
