Purdue Master Gardener Basic Training
In Spring 2021, there while be a Statewide Virtual Purdue EMG Basic Training from Wednesdays March 3 – June 2, 2021. Many counties will come together to offer this program which includes a local county connection hour. The statewide live webinars will be held on Wednesday, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm (ET). Here in Allen County, the local county connection hour (Thursdays at 1:30pm) will be offered virtually through Zoom. Attendance of both of these weekly sessions is required and attendance will be taken.
Additionally, an online information sharing platform, Basecamp, was used to share additional handouts and other information with participants.
Fees will be $175.00/person which includes the print version of the Purdue EMG Manual and for an additional $25.00, participants will also receive the digital version of the manual in a USB flash drive. Estimated fee for two people sharing a print version of the Purdue EMG Manual is $270.00.

To apply, please read the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Program Policy Guide (found below) and complete, sign, and return the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Application and Agreement (found below) to Rhonda Smith at email@example.com. All applicants are also required to consent to national and state sex and violent offender registry checks and provide evidence of a government issued photo ID to your local EMG County Coordinator or designated Purdue Extension staff. Upon confirmation of acceptance of your application and providing evidence of government issued photo ID, you will receive class registration information.
If you cancel your registration prior to the deadline, you will be charged 12% of the registration fee + $5.00. After the deadline, there are no refunds. Purdue University is not responsible for expenses incurred due to cancellations by registrants. Purdue University reserves the right to cancel any program. Registrants will receive a full refund in the event that Purdue University cancels the program.
