The 2014 White County 4-H Fair is now a part of history. After wonderful weather for the majority of the fair and pre-fair, I believe the fair can be deemed a success. I want to thank everyone who had anything to do with the success of the 2014 4-H Fair. Without all of the help of the volunteers, parents and members we could not have provided this experience for the 4-Hers and visitors to the fair. It takes many volunteer hours to make this event a success. White County may not have the biggest fair in the state, but for the 4-H youth involved, it creates many memories and builds life skills. Congratulations to all the 4-Hers. You did a wonderful job and we look forward to having you involved again next year. A special congratulations to the 36 ten year members this year. It takes a great deal of dedication to complete 10 years of 4-H! Best of luck with all of your future plans.

As we look to another year for 4-H, there are changes ahead. The biggest change in several years will be the implementation of a state wide enrollment deadline. Enrollment will begin this fall and will end January 15, 2015. Because this is a state wide enrollment deadline, there will be no late enrollment deadline. Anyone who wishes to participate in 4-H for the 2015 year will need to be enrolled online by January 15th. If you are a current 4-Her, watch for information from your leaders coming this fall. If you are considering enrolling in 4-H for the first time in 2015, contact the Extension Office for additional details.

An additional reminder, if you were unable to pick up your projects from the fair the evening of July 24th please do so at your earliest convenience. The Extension Office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you had projects that are at the Indiana State Fair, those projects will be available for pick up beginning August 19th.
