Women in all sectors of agriculture will be offered educational and networking opportunities at the 15th Annual Midwest Women in Agriculture Conference. The Feb. 17-18 conference will be at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 2480 Jonathan Moore Pike, in Columbus, Indiana. Registration for either Wednesday or Thursday costs $80, or $90 for both days, if payment is received by Feb. 3.

This year's Purdue Extension Indiana Small Farm Conference begins with a series of preconference workshops on direct marketing, woodland management, hops cultivation and other topics. The daylong workshops will be offered March 3, a day before the conference opens at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville. Extension and industry experts will lead each workshop.

The ever-changing business climate for agriculture poses myriad problems and risks for Indiana farmers. The Purdue Extension workshop "Managing Risk on Your Farm: Developing a Cash Rent Strategy" aims to address and equip farmers with the tools and knowledge they need to face these risks.
Purdue Extension is offering a series of weekly webinars in coming months to provide beginning farmers and operators of small farms with practical information on a range of agricultural production and agribusiness topics. The webinars are free and will run noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays from Jan. 27 to April 13. An Extension specialist will lead each session.
Leadership techniques for the long-term success of seed companies will be at the forefront when the American Seed Trade Association Management Academy begins March 7 in West Lafayette.
