4-H Poultry Project

Poultry does not require an enrollment form.

Poultry must be in your possession by May 15; except broilers, which must be hatched 6-8 weeks before the show.

Manuals and record sheets will be due in the Extension office by June 23, 2014, when pen assignments are submitted.

Please refer to the current 4-H Handbook and the Poultry project on the state website for additional information.

Poultry Testing

All 4-H poultry must originate from a National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) official Pullorum-Typhoid Clean flock or have had a negative Pullorum-Typhoid test within ninety (90) day preceding exhibition. If bird originates from certified flock, no test is needed for the first year. However, once the bird is 1 year and older it must be tested each year even if it originated from a certified flock. Blood testing will be available on day of check-in at the county fair for a small fee.
