NEXT JUNIOR LEADER MEETING – Monday, February 18th

The next meeting will be held on Monday, December 17th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. We will  meet in the 4-H Building at the fairgrounds (enter at north end of building). Invite all 7th-12th graders you know; new members are always welcome!

Our service project for this meeting will be making cards for veterans. Paper and limited crayons and markers will be provided, but if you have cool card-making/scrapbooking tools/stickers/papers you want to share, please bring them along.

Meetings will be held on the third Monday of each month from 6:00-7:00 unless announced otherwise. Locations are TBD due to renovations at the Expo Center.

Though things are a little off due to weather changes and whatnot this winter season, your Executive Committee met over Christmas break to begin working on plans for the rest of the school year. Following are some of those details. Stay tuned for more details coming later. All the following are subject to change, but should give you an idea of what the Executive Committee is working on.

You should apply for this AMAZING opportunity!! See the details in the February Pandemonium. If you are at least 15 years of age by June 29th and are in 9th grade or higher you’re eligible to apply! Our Porter County 4-H Council will select two Porter County 4-Hers to represent us at Citizenship Washington Focus.

4-H PERFORMING ARTS EVENT (formerly known as Share-the-Fun)

Our annual variety show will be held in March at the Memorial Opera House in Valparaiso (currently in discussion with Opera House to lock in date – had hoped to have it 3/8, but due to the popularity of their Shrek show, they are adding Shrek dates. We’re looking at 3/15 or 3/22). The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. but we would like Junior Leaders to arrive at 5:00 to prepare for the event. Our Junior Leader organization serves as the host of this event. A committee is needed to help plan the event. If interested in taking part in this committee, please stick around after the February meeting adjourns.

Please be thinking of potential sponsors for our event! This event is the fundraiser that allows us to conduct the service projects we do. We can’t have such an awesome event without financial support from local businesses and organizations. Questions about sponsorships? Contact Joan (joangrott@purdue.edu) or Justin (justin.higer@gmail.com).

Your fifth annual 4-H 4-Mile Hustle was once again a positive fundraiser for the Junior Leaders organization! We have plenty of leftover Hustle shirts available at the Extension Office for $5 each! They are Carolina blue sport/tech fabric… great for gym class, practices, or just any day! They’re pretty cool-looking. Spread the word.
