JUNIOR LEADER CALL-OUT & HALLOWEEN PARTY! Monday, October 16th, 6:30-7:30* at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. *Note special time/location for this month’s meeting. Usually meetings will be at 6:00-7:00 in the upstairs meeting room of Expo East at the fairgrounds.
All 7th-12th graders are invited to join us for our annual call-out meeting. There will be food, fun, and you’ll find out if Junior Leaders is right for you! The Junior Leader executive committee has planned many fun recreational activities for you, including a costume contest (with prizes)! Put on a costume and bring a friend or two…whether or not they have been enrolled in 4-H before!
It will be a POTLUCK! Please bring a food item to share… snacks, desserts, anything goes! It’s a PARTY! Drinks and paper goods will be provided.

HELP NEEDED AT MUM SALE: We count on Junior Leaders to help out in many ways in the 4-H Program, and we need your help with the mum sale THIS FRIDAY & SATURDAY! Assistance is needed on Friday, September 15th from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 16th from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please share this volunteer opportunity with other members of your 4-H Club too! 4-H ACHIEVEMENT NIGHT: 4-H Achievement Night will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 5:30 p.m. at Expo East at the Fairgrounds (enter on the north side of the building). This year's Achievement Night will be a potluck dinner. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Meat, drinks, and table service will be provided. Please come and enjoy dinner, fellowship, and fun with 4-H families and friends from around the county. We look forward to seeing you! WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR SET-UP: Junior Leaders should arrive NO LATER THAN 4:45 to help set up chairs!
AREA X 4-H JUNIOR LEADER CONFERENCE: OCTOBER 21st Get this on your calendar NOW, you won’t want to miss the first Area X Junior Leader Conference that’s been held in recent years! It is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. CST at South Central School, right next door in LaPorte County! It will be a great chance to get together to share ideas, enhance your leadership skills, and have some fun with other 4-H members from our 8-county area!
BOILER BRIDGE: connecting campus to community: Boiler Bridge is a statewide series of free community events hosted by Purdue University’s College of Agriculture that will help college-curious youth and parents learn more about multiple fields of study at Purdue while showcasing Purdue Extension programs. Purdue academic counselors from multiple fields of study at Purdue will be available to answer questions concerning college costs, available scholarships, financial aid, campus life, career opportunities, placement resources, and more. Youth interested in college and their parents can also gain specific details about different paths through junior high or high school that could serve as springboards to Purdue academic degrees. Parents also can find out more about important application dates and life at Purdue.
