Purdue's Beginning Farmer and Rancher program is offering new and aspiring farmers an opportunity to visit 10 Indiana agribusinesses and learn from Purdue Extension educators, producers and other experts about topics ranging from organic produce to shrimp farming.
Purdue Extension is co-sponsoring the annual Indiana Extension Homemakers Association's Home and Family Conference, designed to strengthen families by showing them how to spend wisely, eat right and live well. The conference June 13-15 at the Sheraton Hotel at Keystone Crossing includes more than 20 sessions on health and wellness, family relationships, community and technology.
Hellbender Hustle
Come to the 13th consecutive Hellbender Hustle 5K Run/Walk at the O'Bannon Woods State Park in Corydon, Indiana to learn more about hellbenders and how they are faring in the nearby Blue River. The race is part road, part trail, and fun for the whole family.

It is likely that prices of natural gas - now at their lowest in two decades - will be even lower during the home heating season next winter, Purdue University energy economist Wally Tyner says. In another good sign for low energy costs for consumers, Tyner also expects gasoline prices to stay in the range of $2 to $2.50 a gallon for much of 2016.

The Indiana Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) created a new Facebook page to announce national and state events. This national program developed through the 4-H Youth Development and FFA teaches wildlife identification, wildlife natural history and habitat management.
