The Monroe County Livestock Sale Committee, 4-H Board of Directors and myself would like to invite you to apply for the Bruce Haley Memorial Scholarship. Bruce Haley was very supportive of the Monroe County 4-H Program and gave many years of service as our livestock auctioneer. In 2016, a $2000.00 scholarship was established in Bruce’s memory, and thanks to generous donors and supporters, the scholarship will be awarded again this year.
In order to qualify, you must be an active member in the last year of participation in the Monroe County 4-H Program and participating in a livestock project (beef, dairy, goat, horse, pigeon, poultry, rabbit, sheep, swine). All applicants must have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher (transcript required) and be enrolled in any university, college, or trade school leading to a degree or certification.
The application is due to the Monroe County Extension Office by June 1, 2019. Applications will be reviewed by the Livestock Sale Committee and a member or members of the Haley family. The scholarship winner will be announced at the Livestock Sale on July 6, 2019. Funds will be received upon confirmation of enrollment in the fall.
The Monroe County Fairboard would like to invite you to apply for the Fairboard and Luehr's Ideal Rides, Inc. 4-H Scholarships. New for 2019, the Monroe County Fairboard and Luehrs' Ideal Rides, Inc. will each award a scholarship to a deserving high school senior.
- Leuhr's Ideal Rides, Inc. will award one $1000.00 scholarship to one current 10 Year 4-H Member
- Monroe County Fair Association, Inc. will award one or more scholarships to current seniors involved in 4-H (applicant does not have to be a 10 year member)
Please review the application carefully. The same application will be used to determined recipients of both scholarship. The application is due to the Monroe County Fair Association by Friday, May 31, 2019. The application can be mailed or e-mailed and details are on the application document. The scholarship winner will be announced at the 4-H Awards Night on Friday, July 5, 2019.
Congratulations to our 2018-2019 Scholarship Winners
