"Communicating with Farmers Under Stress" will help participants recognize and respond when it is suspected a farmer or farm family member might need assistance. The program will build awareness around potentially stressful conditions affecting farmers and identify stress triggers, signs of stress and helpful techniques for responding. Participants will also learn techniques for identifying, approaching and working with farmers who may not cope with stress effectively, as well as where to go for additional help. Workshop content is specifically geared towards those working directly with farmers, including lenders, input dealers, co-op staff, other agribusiness professionals, agency staff, etc. but is open to anyone interested in gaining insight into specific aspects of stress related to farmers and farming.
Pre-registration is required and is due by Friday, February 14.
