If you are NEW to gardening, try the City Gardener Program. It is a series of evening classes for new or inexperienced urban gardeners. Come to one session or the whole series.
Registration is open for Purdue Extension - Marion County's new community garden training course, Gardening Together. This course was created for those who are in the beginning years of organizing a community garden. It will be on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Cost is $20 and includes lunch.
Master Gardeners need to report their volunteer and training hours for certification. Marion County Master Gardeners volunteered 22,392.5 hours educating others and impacting communities during 2015.
The next Purdue Extension Master Gardener classes in Marion County begin in September of 2017.
The Master Gardener program is designed to help educate the public about gardening through the use of trained, certified volunteers. The program helps participants to grow by providing them with training in horticulture principles. They, in turn, agree to share their knowledge and help others grow.
