Marion County will not be offering a Fall 2021 Extension Master Gardener Basic Training course. During the Spring of 2022, there will be a state-wide virtual course available. We are currently planning on offering a fall 2022 in-person Extension Master Gardener Basic Training course. For those unable or unwilling to wait until 2022 for training, please contact Barb Rusin, rusin0@purdue.edu, so that we may connect you with a neighboring county for training.

For information on classes in other counties this spring, go to: 2021 Purdue Extension Master Gardener basic training.

The following topics are covered during Purdue Extension Master Gardener (EMG) training:

Purdue EMG Orientation

Plant Science

Soils and Plant Nutrition

Invasive Species

Plant Disease Diagnosis

Weed ID and Control

Insect ID and Control

Pesticide Safety and Alternatives

Animal Pests

Herbaceous Ornamentals

Woody Ornamentals

Two classes were held last fall. No classes are currently scheduled for 2021. If you wish to be on an e-mail list for information on future classes, please send an e-mail to Barbara Rusin: rusin0@purdue.edu.

Purdue is committed to making all programs accessible to participants. If you require auxiliary aids or services, or if you have other program-related concerns, please contact Barbara Rusin (rusin0@purdue.edu) at least 2 weeks prior to the program.
