The Problem

Keith Johnson, Purdue University Extension Forages Specialist

The 2019 hay crop is some of the poorest quality in years. Keith will analysis the hay situation, hay quality concerns and the importance of testing.

 

The Consequences of Feeding Poor Quality Hay

Richard Ehrhardt, Michigan State University Sheep and Goat Specialist

Potential poor quality hay feeding problems include weight loss; poor lamb and kid birth weight, colostrum quality and milk production. Dr. Ehrhardt will cover supplementation strategies to be able to utilize this hay and still have a productive year.
