Food Safety and Power Outages
Keeping Food Safe During Emergencies Publication

Keeping Food Safe During Emergencies can be downloaded free from the Education Store at:

https://mdc.itap.purdue.edu/item.asp?item_number=HHS-119-W

Please use whatever means you have to get the word out in those areas of the state affected by the power outage.

While people may be out of power at home, they may be commuting to work or driving otherwise, and listening to the radio. Also, we encourage people to have battery powered radios in their home for emergency purposes. The radio is a good means of getting the word out. Please feel free to use information from the publication on radio spots, emails or flyers. Part of the message for people with power is to download the publication now, print it, and have it at hand for the next power outage.
